Margaret T. Cooper, age 85, died Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Orchard Villa. She was born in Brooklyn, NY to Lulu (Reese) and John Murphy. She married Patrick J. Cooper in 1937 and they moved to Lima, OH in 1953.
A homemaker, Margaret was an active volunteer for many years at St. Rita's Hospital in Lima.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Patrick J. Cooper, sisters Viola Brady and Anna Dunn, brother John Murphy, and daughter Doreen C. Loretta. She is survived by her sister, Lillian Schone of Casselbury, FL, daughter Susan K. Traver (James) of Millbury, OH, grandchildren, Christy Craig Rohan (Lyle) of Las Vegas, NV, Lisabeth Craig of Arlington, TX, Rap Craig (Bonnie) of Honolulu, HI, and 6 great grand children.
Margaret was a friend to all. She and Patrick lived in San Diego, CA after his retirement and enjoyed an active life in their community. Margaret always loved writing skits and plays. She wrote, directed, and participated in many such skits while living in California.
Margaret and Patrick also lived a number of years in Hendersonville, NC. They both loved the beauty of the area and made many friends there. They moved to Perrysburg in 1994 and Patrick died shortly thereafter.
Margaret loved decorating her home, garage sales, knitting, reading, and writing letters to her friends. She also liked expressing her political opinions and commentary on local issues in letters to the editor of the Toledo Blade. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Words cannot express the family's gratitude for the loving care and camaraderie Margaret received while living at Orchard Villa. She truly considered Orchard Villa her home and staff and other residents her extended family.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel 1111 Woodville Rd., Millbury, OH on Wednesday from 2-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Thursday at 10:15 am in St. Rose Catholic Church 215 E. Front St. Perrysburg, OH where the family will receive friends after 9:30 am. Interment will take place in Ft. Meigs Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E River Rd. Perrysburg, Ohio or to the charity of the donor's choice.
