Margaret D. Dickens, 93, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Margaret was born in Briceville, Tennessee on February 1, 1923 to Homer and Birdie Mae (Seivers) Taylor. She was a member of the former Harborview Baptist Church.
Margaret loved working in her yard. In the spring she would plant many flats of beautiful flowers and an enormous garden, taking exceptional care of them throughout the summer. In the fall she, along with her husband, would can hundreds of quarts of fruits and vegetables. Her delicious green beans and apple butter were family favorites. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to prepare a large dinner every Sunday that no one in the family wanted to miss.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 74 years, Clinton; children, Larry (Mary), Earnie (Dianne), Eddy (Kim), Joanne (Rollie) McQuestion; 5 sisters; 1 brother; 13 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Jerry; daughters-in-law, Bonnie, Laverne and Sue Dickens.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday, June 24, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Interment will take place at 11:00 am at Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, 3665 Genoa Rd., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. Memorial contributions in Margaret's name may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family would like to thank the Oregon Senior Center and also the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo for the compassion shown to Margaret and her family.
