Margaret A Dohms, 97, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Orchard Villa in Oregon, Ohio. Marge was born on March 7, 1918 in Curtice, Ohio, to Charles and Sophia (Hoeflinger) Dunn. She graduated from Central Catholic High School, Class of 1935, and went on to graduate cum laude from Notre Dame Academy College. Marge went on to be a Physical Education/Health teacher and English teacher in Michigan. She also owned and operated the Curtice Tavern with her husband, "Chick". Marge worked for her brother Clifford as Office Manager at Dunn Chevy Olds, until her retirement. Marge also worked at her daughter's business (Mr. Emblem), until the age of 86.
Marge had a deep faith, loved spending time with her family, and also enjoyed music and sports, especially baseball. She enjoyed watching her daughter play softball and her grandsons play all their sports. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was always ready to go. Marge will always be remembered for the cards she wrote and sent over the years.
Marge is survived by her daughter, Patrticia (Paul) Slygh; grandsons, Bryan (Stephanie) and Scott; great granddaughters, Astreya and Willow; sister-in-law, Angela Dunn; brothers-in-law, Lester Dohms and Donald Pfieffer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Foster A. "Chick" Dohms; first husband, Russell Pfieffer, who was killed in World War II; Son, Danny Paul Dohms; siblings, Betty Jane, Frank, Wallace, Clifford, Kelly and Dick.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Road, Oregon on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11:00 am where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Ignatius Building Fund or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Marge's family would like to thank Orchard Villa nurses and staff; Northwest Ohio Hospice for the loving care they provided to Marge.
