Obituary

Margaret J. Hoffman, 75, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at her nieces home. She was born on May 8, 1928, in Toledo to Rufus and Marie (Burkhouse) Hoffman. Peggy graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1946 and was then employed for 38 years at the Wayne Lumber Co. as a bookkeeper retiring in 1990. She was a sports enthusiast, excelling in many sports throughout her life. She received the Bishops Silver Basketball while at Notre Dame, in 1954 she bowled the highest game in the country, she also won the Bowl Down Cancer Tournament twice, had bowled in 48 states, an original member of the Blade Queens Traveling Bowling League and was a player and coach for the Toledo Canaries Fast Pitch Softball League. Peggy had touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. She is survived by her niece, Susan (Jay) Wodrich; nephews, William (Cathy) Schultz and Robert (Donna) Hoffman and great-nieces and nephews, William, Anna and Robin. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Schultz and brothers, Bill and Bob Hoffman. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 2, 2004 from 2 to 9 p.m. in the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH, where funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
