Margaret Elizabeth Peterson, 89, of Oregon, Ohio passed away late evening on Good Friday, March 29, 2024, following a long illness.

Margaret was born in Toledo to parents Carson and Bertha M. (Zentgraf) Peterson on April 25, 1934. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Thomas P. David, Genoa; great-nephew, Brad D. Hanely, Genoa; cousin, Kathleen M. Sheets, Oregon; and many other cousins. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carson F. Peterson (died 1952); sister, Dolores M. David (died 2016); niece, Susan David Hanely (died 2012); and cousin, Thomas E. Sheets (died 2008).

Miss Peterson graduated from the former Whitney High School in 1952. Following high school, she was employed in the office of several businesses including the former Lamson Department Store. In 1963, she relocated to the former Toledo Trust Bank, where she began working in the comptroller department. She then transferred to the trust department for many years until retiring in 1993.

Margaret was such an inherently good person, always trying to say and do the right thing. She lived with her mother and took care of her until her death in December of 1983. In retirement, Margaret swam at the Eastern Community YMCA and walked at Pearson Park. She also volunteered at Mercy St. Charles Hospital in Oregon.

Visitation for Margaret will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday April 4, 2024, at the Eggleston Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday April 5, 2024, in the chapel at the Gardens of St, Francis, 930 South Wynn Road, Oregon, with additional visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio Living Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.
