Maria Luisa Duran Lopez, 69, of Toledo, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2010, at Toledo Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
She was born June 21, 1941, in Asherton, Texas, the daughter of the late Aurora (Garcia) and Ricardo T. Duran. She was one of fourteen siblings. On January 26, 1956, she married Antonio Lopez.
Maria attended Libby High School and was employed at Chrysler Jeep. She was a faith full member of St. Peter & Paul'™s Catholic Church. She loved playing bingo, cards, dancing, music, making people laugh, and especially cooking her arroz con pollo. Most of all her heart was always with her family.
She is survived by her loving husband Antonio Lopez Sr.; daughters Cynthia (Arturo), Koren, Maria (Johnny), Denise; sons, Tomas, Vincente (Jennifer), and Juan (Lisa) Chirinos; as well as, brothers Richard Duran Jr., Frank (Leticia) Duran, Mario (Margarita) Duran, and sisters Ruperta (Magdaleno-d), Pecina, Nancy (Jose) Romo, Petra (Michael) Mattison, Josefina (Carlos) Medina, Josie (Rolando) Briceno, Pat Torres, Delia Perales, Beatrice (Diana) Duran; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her sons Antonio Jr. and Martin Lopez; brothers, Frumencio and Juan Duran, and Jesse Garcia
Visitation will be held on Sunday October 17 and Monday October 18 from 2 to 9 pm in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Avenue. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7 pm Monday. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 am with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 am in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church 728 S. St. Clair St. Toledo, OH. Interment will take place at St. Ignatius Cemetery, Oregon, Ohio with a dinner following immediately after.
