Marian R. Chaney, 87, formerly of Toledo, Ohio passed away November 8, 2011 in Charlotte, N.C. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 31, 1924 to Charles and Maud (Phillips) Baymiller. In her younger years, she worked in the office at First St. John Lutheran Church where she was a long time member, and was the children'™s choir director for 17 years. She was a soloist in the church choir and loved to bowl. Marian also was employed as an administrative secretary at Ruth Ide Center. Surviving are her daughter, Marilyn (David) Richards; sons, Reed (Debora) Chaney, and Scott (Vanessa) Chaney; grandchildren, Eric (Christy) Richards, Shannon (Brian) McBroom, Jessica Chaney, James Chaney, Janelle Chaney, 4 great grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Rapp and sister-in-law Nola Brown. Marian was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Joseph H. Chaney; brothers, John and Charles Baymiller; sisters, Mildred Paepcke, Olive Alexander and Helen Barton. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 8 pm in Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road. Funeral services will be conducted in First St. John Lutheran Church, 2471 Seaman St., Toledo, Ohio on Monday at 11:00 a.m., where the family will receive visitors beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to First St. John Lutheran Church.
