Marie Murphy, 81, passed away at her home on Friday, February 26, 2010. Marie was a native of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, but was a resident of Toledo since the age of 20. Marie was an avid gardener and loved cooking big meals for her family and friends. Her cooking will be missed, especially for the holidays. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Murphy and brothers, Bobby and Billy Luna. Surviving are her brother, Edward Luna; sister, Ruby Standifer; children, Shirley Phillips, Jerry (Penny) Luna, Linda (Ralph) Marty, Nancy (Joe) Gutierrez, Bobby (Mary) Murphy, Patti Gorski and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may call in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, where visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in Echo Meadows Church of Christ, 2905 Starr Avenue. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family would like to thank the members of her church for their concern, support and help in the past several months of her life. Your visitation and helping with chores was much appreciated. Also special thanks to granddaughter, Noel, for her companionship and help. Your weekly visits really meant a lot to Granny.
