Marie L. Sampsell, 85, of Elmore, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Genoa Retirement Village. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 12, 1926 to Vern and Margaret (Beltz) Perney. On April 11, 1959, she married Paul Sampsell. Marie worked as a toll operator for Ohio Bell for 9 years. She enjoyed showing horses and watching birds. Marie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Paul; children; David(Elena) Hill, Carol Wachtell, Michelle( David) Welling, and Peggy(Bob) Rentz; 8 grandchildren; sister, Betty Hoot; brothers, Harold and William Perney. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Donald and Vernard. Friends may call at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, on Monday, May 23 from 400-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
