Marilyn Mae (Treter) Ritter, 85, of Otterbein Portage Valley, Pemberville, Ohio formerly of 2504 Cawdor Road, Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully May 5, 2015 at Otterbein Portage Valley. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 23, 1930 to Edward Treter and Viola (Hoffman) Treter. Marilyn graduated from Waite High School and married Winfield (Scott) Ritter on May 26, 1951. Marilyn was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Together with her husband, they built their home where they raised three children. They took their family on many memorable camping trips all over the U.S., but mostly camped in Michigan, enjoying the beautiful scenery and nature. She had a great fondness for watching birds. She was a very creative person who enjoyed painting ceramics, sewing, needlework and crafts. She also played the piano and enjoyed singing. Marilyn was a lifelong member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and was a member of the adult choir. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Winfield "Scott" Ritter, parents, and brother, Richard Treter. She is survived by her children, Janet (Don) Davies, Thomas (Cindy) Ritter, William (Lois) Ritter; grandchildren, Jesse (Dolly) Frank, Joshua (Jennifer) Frank, Sara (Luke) Shortridge, Nicole Ritter, Eric Ritter and Jeffery Ritter; great grandchildren, Jackson, Asa and Atalya Shortridge. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday, May 10 from 1-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 611 Woodville Road, on Monday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m. The family will greet friends from 10 -11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy in Marilyn's memory can be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church. Marilyn was a wonderful wife, mother and friend. She will be truly missed and always remembered in our hearts.
