Marino Liburdi, 83, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was born in Ceccano, Italy on November 9, 1935 to Salvatore and Vincenza (Liburdi) Liburdi. On October 9, 1965 he married the love of his life, Lorenzina (Giorgi) and together they would have 3 sons. Wanting to better his life, he and his family would immigrate to the United States in 1970. Marino would eventually work for CSX for over 20 years before retiring. He loved gardening and spending time with his family. One of Marino's greatest accomplishments aside from his beautiful family was building his family home. Everyone knew him as a selfless and kind man who will surely be missed by all who knew him.
Marino is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lorenzina; sons, Joe (Heidi), Massimo (Tona), Salvatore "Sonny" (Michelle) Liburdi; 6 grandchildren; sister, Giovanna (Gabriele) D'Emilio; and many loving nieces and nephews in both Italy and America. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Maria Liburdi Silvaggi; brother-in-law, Filippo Giorgi, all from Ceccano, Italy.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The family will also greet friends on Friday, November 30, 2018 at St. Ignatius Church 212 N. Stadium, Oregon, Ohio from 10:00 am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Marino's name may be directed to the American Heart Association.
