Obituary

Marjorie H. McAvoy, 87, passed away on April 15, 2011 at Lutheran Home of Toledo surrounded by her loving family. Marjorie was born on September 29, 1923 to Bruno and Josephine (Sines) Pfaff. She worked for 35 years as a nurses aid at many local hospitals and nursing homes before retiring in 1984. Marjorie was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing Bunco and cards. She also loved to travel with her husband Gerry. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Gloria Jean (Garey) Tschappat; sons, James (Sue), John (Jodie), Timothy (Jeanette); 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Wayne and Willard Pfaff; sister, Bonnie Bates. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard 'œGerry'; brother, Gilbert Pfaff; sisters, Florence Jackson, Dorothy Sherwood, Verna Neumann. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 509 Oswald St., on Monday at 10:30 a.m. where family will greet visitors beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Lutheran Home at Toledo.
