Marjorie Winterhalder, 86, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011 in Mercy St. Charles Hospital. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to Clyde and Esther (Kimberly) Winterhalder on February 7, 1925. Marjorie graduated from Waite High School in 1945 and was a 1951 graduate of Riverside Hospital School of Nursing. From 1943-1948, she was employed at Save Electric. Marjorie then worked as a nurse for over 40 years. After graduation she was employed at Riverside Hospital and for Dr. C. W. Watson. She would also work at Maumee Valley Hospital and Medical College of Ohio Hospital for 25 years. Prior to retirement in 1989, she served as a shift supervisor and nursing manager. Marjorie was a longtime member of the Rossford Eagles #2322 and Cass Road Baptist Church. In her spare time, she loved to play cards, play her Lowrey organ, and fish in her 18 foot boat named 'œWendy'. While out on Lake Erie, and over looking those waters, she felt so close to God.
Marjorie is survived by her sister, Donna Jean Lytle; nephew and nieces, Randy Lytle, Lynn (Dan) Barnhart, Cheryl Wardell, Linda (Eulan) Tucker, Alfreda Carswell, Sarah (Bob) Shuman, and Judith Achinger. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lois Ingram.
Per Marjorie'™s wishes, she donated her body to the Department of Anatomy at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Memorial services will be held on August 7, 2011 at 12:30 pm in the Cass Road Baptist Church in Maumee. Interment will take place at a later date at Independence Cemetery, Independence, Ohio. Memorials may be directed to Cass Road Baptist Church.
