Mark J. Berman, 68, of Northwood, Ohio passed away peacefully on Monday, March 7, 2022 in his home. He was born on November 13, 1953 in Toledo, Ohio to Melvin J. and Mary L. (Sarra) Berman. Mark graduated from Lake High School and worked in the family businesses since the age of 8 as the "Go to Man". This included Frostop Drive In's, Union 76 Truck Stop, Mel Berman's Restaurant, Chris's Super Club, Berman's Christmas Shoppe, and Flower Shop. He primarily ran and operated Mel Berman's Restaurant. He also owned and operated Oregon Storage for 25 years retiring in September 2021. Mark often travelled to Clearwater Beach, Florida with his wife and family. He enjoyed going to car shows and displaying his Corvette. He also enjoyed painting, going on day trips, remodeling and just working with his hands.
Surviving are his wife, Kathy S.(James) Berman; daughter, Kerrie L. (Berman) Dayton and son, Andrew J. Berman; grandchildren, Alexandria Berman, Blake Dayton, Orion and Laney Berman; sister, Kathleen (Kevin) Haddad; nieces, Tatiana(Sean) Haddad, Cassandra (Kyle) Staggs and Gabriella Haddad; great-niece, Norah Staggs; brother-in-law's and sister-in-law's, Wendell (Debbie) James, Lynn (Linda) James, Edward (Chris) James and Vickie James; mother-in-law Lila James. He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Mary Berman; brother, Christopher Berman and father-in-law Arvin James.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 AM with interment following in Lake Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Hospice of Northwest
