Obituary

Mark A. Segura, age 41, passed from this life and was welcomed into God's Kingdom on August 1, 2004, after a valiant fight against cancer. Mark leaves behind the love of his life, Laurie, children Diana, Joshua brothers Charlie (Debbie), Al (Elaine), John (Jennifer) Segura. Robert, Christopher and Diana Ottney and many many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Chuck & Sharon, beloved gramma Mary, cousin Brenda Burgess, special friend Kim Morvay and several other close family members. Mark proudly served his country as a Marine (Semper Fidelis) and achieved expert marksmanship instructor rifle expert, meritorious mast and received a good conduct medal. Marks first loves were family and friends but his passion was sports, especially softball and hockey. Mark played on many talented teams and enjoyed many tournament wins during his softball career. Mark is recognized as the only person to ever pitch a complete game no hitter at the Lucas County Recreation Center in 1999 and field #2 was recently named in his honor for this rare feat. Mark is also a member of the softball hall of fame and pitched a second no hitter at Super State and won this tournament in 1998. Mark also enjoyed his time playing hockey with Boomer and the Molson Ice 40 and over team. They won the Canadian tournament in 1998. Mark's motto was always the more the merrier. He enjoyed frequent parties with his many friends rooting for the Cleveland Browns or just because. The cancer eats away at the body but it never touched his mind, heart or soul. Mark never lost his faith in God and never asked why. The evil never got to him or those around him because of his strength and awesome spirit. Loved always and forever missed.
