Marlene J. Phillips, 74, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Mercy St. Vincent'™s Hospital. Marlene was born on August 1, 1939 to Vern and Donna (Klowatki) Skiver. She worked as a clerk at several department stores but most recently at Schweizer Farm Market. Marlene is a 6 year breast cancer survivor. She enjoyed gardening, camping, playing her organ, crocheting, sewing, and playing the accordion in her earlier years. Marlene is survived by her sons, David (Betty) Phillips, Donald (Beverly) Phillips, Dean (Martha) Phillips; sisters, Cheryl (John) Smith, Mary Ellen; brothers, Larry (Ruth) Skiver, Bob (Donna) Skiver; 9 grandchildren, Rebekah, Michaiah, Marissa, Joshua, Jeremiah, Hannah, Josiah, Hunter and Laci. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio 43616 on Wednesday and Thursday, July 23 and 24th from 2-9 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Clay Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to American Diabetes Association.
