Martha E. LaCourse, 91, formerly of Oregon and Millbury, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2008, in Harborside of Perrysburg. Mrs. LaCourse was born in Toledo on April 22, 1917, to Adolph and Leda (Morgan) Gaertner. Martha was a substitute teacher for 20 years including the Oregon school system where she retired in 1983. After her retirement she was employed in the housekeeping department at St. Charles Hospital. Mrs. LaCourse was a graduate of Waite High School and the University of Toledo. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Surviving are her daughters, Nancy Kunich, Beverly Ottney, Diane (Ray) Methvin, Leda LaCourse; sons, Jim, Jerry (Diane) and Bob LaCourse; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Karl, George and Morgan Gaertner; grandson, James LaCourse; sons-in-law, Jack Kunich, Jerry Ottney and daughter-in-law, Rose LaCourse. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, where visitation will be on Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Martha's memory may be made to either the Alzheimer Association or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Visitation: Thursday, 2-9 p.m. Services: Friday, 10:00 a.m.
