Martha "Nana" Smyth, 82, of Toledo, OH, passed away Monday, July 2, 2007, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Martha was born in Sterling, Michigan on August 21, 1924, to Albert and Anna (Avery) Hanjora. She was the widow of Donald Smyth who preceded her in death in 1990. Mrs. Smyth was employed as an assistant manager for the Ames (Murphy's) Department Store where she worked for 30 years before her retirement in 1989. Surviving are her sons, Bernard F. and Kevin V. (Michaline); sisters, Vietta (James) Robertson, Harriet (Ronald) St. John, Sarah (Charles) Thomason, June Hanjora; brothers, Richard (Maxine) and Albert (Bernita) Hanjora; grandchildren, Kimberly, Matthew, Nancy and Leo; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Arquette; brother, Elmer Hanjora; grandson, Donald J. and daughter-in-law, Dianne Smyth. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. at Starr Avenue, on Thursday, July 5, 2007 from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in "Nana's" memory may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or a charity of the donor's choice.
