Obituary

Martin "Marty" Zeller, 65, passed away on March 11, 2026, in Oregon, OH. Marty was born on June 21, 1960 in Toledo, Ohio to James and Donna (Lincoln) Zeller. Marty was known for his incredible work ethic, his many talents, and the way he always seemed to know how to fix or build just about anything.

A graduate of Woodward High School, Marty went on to build a career as a millwright with Toledo Edison before later working for the City of Oregon as the supervisor for the street department, where he dedicated many years of service before retiring.

Marty was a true craftsman. A master woodworker and skilled handyman, he had a gift for working with his hands and could tackle almost any project, from repairing cars to electrical work and home projects. Friends and family often turned to him when something needed fixing, knowing Marty could figure it out.

He had many passions outside of work. Marty loved spending time outdoors camping and fishing, relaxing with a good book, roasting his own coffee, and cooking for those he loved. He was well known for his homemade spaghetti and for smoking sausage. Even as a young man, Marty enjoyed cooking. When he and his sister were younger, he would often make her breakfast, striking a deal that he would cook if she agreed to clean up afterward.

Marty married the love of his life, Laurie, on May 1, 1987. The two first met at work, where Marty asked Laurie out several times before she finally agreed. His persistence paid off, and their love story began. They later honeymooned in Jamaica and built a life together filled with laughter, partnership, and shared memories.

Marty will be remembered for his laid back and easy-going personality, craftsmanship, generosity in helping others, and the many ways he quietly took care of the people around him.

Marty is survived by his sons, James (Kathryn) and Adam (Rebecca) Zeller; special granddaughter, Morgan; mother, Donna; sisters, Diane (Jon) and Brenda (Jim); and brother-in-law, Don.

He was preceded in death by his father, James; loving wife, Laurie; sister, Sue; and brother-in-law, Terry.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Willow Cemetery, Oregon, Ohio.
