Mary Ann "Jess" Novak, 81, of Toledo, passed away September 10, 2009. She was born March 18, 1928, to John and Mary (Adam) Megyesi. Mary Ann worked for the Toledo Public Schools as the "Lunch Lady" for 25 years before retiring in 1997. She was an active member of Holy Rosary and St. Stephens Parishes' and a lifetime member of VFW Post 4906 Auxiliary. Mary Ann is survived by her daughters, Marcia (Michael) Petersen, Janet (James) Boyle, and Joan (Don) Goins; brother, John (Nina) Megyesi; grandchildren, Marla (Michael) McGillivary, Micah Petersen, Aaron Nauman, Amanda (Michael) Kaczynski, and Erikka Goins; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Madison Kaczynski and Skylar Nauman, and special friend and roomie, Sophie. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and sister, Judith Megyesi. Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 13 at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road from 2-9 p.m. where Rosary and VFW Auxiliary services will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m. Monday at the funeral home and proceed to St. Stephens Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or charity of the donor's choice. The family wishes to thank the staff of Heartland of Perrysburg for their loving care.
