Mary Buffy, 96, passed away on July 20, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 21, 1918 to Louis and Theresa (Szabo) Olah. Mary was a graduate of Waite High School and went on to work as a long distance phone operator for Ohio Bell for 43 years before retiring. She was a member of Calvin United Church of Christ, enjoyed cooking, baking and taking short trips. Mary's most important pass-time was being with her family and grandchildren. Mary is survived by her son, Joseph (Valerie) Buffy; 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 69 years, Joseph; 4 sisters; 1 brother. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Friday at Calvin United Church of Christ, 1946 Bakewell St., Toledo on Friday at 10:00 a.m. where the family will greet friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow in North Oregon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvin United Church of Christ.
