Mary Edith Smith, 89, of Temperance, Michigan passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Mrs. Smith was born in Lawrence County, Alabama on August 8, 1921 to Raymond and Anna (Brandon) Roy. She was the widow of John Smith and James Ivey. Mary was employed for 17 years at Taylor Press before her retirement in 1983. She also attended Lambertville United Methodist Church. Surviving are her daughters, Betty (Gary) Tyree, Patricia Diane (Jim) Villarreal; 4 loving grandchildren, Gregg (Traci) Tyree, Lisa (Rodney) Terry, Todd (Jen)Villarreal, Jay (Lori) Villarreal; 5 great grandchildren; 2 nieces and sister, Grace Haynes. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ottis Roy; sisters, Dessie Mae Roy, Clara Haynes and Opal McCleskey. Anyone who ever met our Mom loved her and loved her southern accent. She loved to recite her childhood poems, all from memory, to us when we were children. She will be missed but she'™s gone to live with our Lord and Savior. We were all blessed to have her in our lives. Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, 440 S Coy Road, Oregon, on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 am with Rev. Tom Zimmerman, officiating. Interment will follow at Allen Township Cemetery in Williston, Ohio.
