Obituary

Mary A. Eberflus, of Toledo passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2006.. Mary was born in Toledo to Hungarian immigrants, Lawrence and Katalin Zvara and lived all her life in the Brimingham neighborhood. She had worked at Tiedtke's candy department, Link's (Grunkes) Cafeteria and retired with her husband, Theodore who preceded her in death. Mrs. Eberflus was an active member of St. Stephen Church and Rosary Altar Society, member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post #4906. She was an avid bingo runner and kitchen helper at St. Stephen's Hall and volunteered for many duties during the Birmingham Ethnic Festivals. She enjoyed an active and full life among her family and friends, especially those at the East Toledo Senior Center. She greatly appreciated her friends who helped her get to and from church and of course her monthly "dining out" friends. Mary was a very generous person who always put others first. Surviving are her children, Chris "Trina" (Mike) Nusbaum, Kathy (Brad) York; grandchildren, Michelle (Wayne) Samson, Larry Nusbaum, Jennifer York; great- grandchildren, Zachery and Katie Samson; sister, Bertha Malohn and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Theodore; sister, Margaret Hornyak; brother, James "Joe" Meyers, and other family members. Family and friends may visit from 2 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2006 in the Kinsey Funeral Home, 2001 Consaul Street, where the Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. followed by VFW Post 4906 Ladies Auxiliary. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Monday at 9:45 a.m. and proceed to St. Stephen Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Mary's name may be sent to a charity of the donor's choice. A special thanks to Lisa C. in the CCU unit at St. Charles for her love and care given to our mother and grandmother. Visitation: Visitation Times Sunday, 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. Kinsey Funeral Home
