Mary Alberta Good, 97, of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026. Mary was born September 17, 1928, in Toledo, Ohio to Albert and Eunice (English) Clark. Mary served as a nurse in the United States Navy and later worked as a registered nurse at St. Vincent and St. Charles Hospitals. In the final years of her career, she dedicated herself to helping others as a therapist and counselor.
Mary was a proud and active member of the recovery community, where she offered honesty, hope, and a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Her impact will live on in the countless lives she touched simply by showing up and being unapologetically herself. To know her was to love her-and sometimes to be lovingly scolded by her. Her quick wit and smart mouth were legendary, always delivered with a twinkle in her eye and rarely filtered. Mary loved fiercely, protected her people without hesitation, and gave endlessly of her time, her strength, and her heart. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, laughter, and love that will continue to echo long after she is gone.
Mary is survived by her children, Meg (Scott) Lent and Bill (Derinda) Good; grandchildren, Mac (Carrie) Good, Kelly (David) Kirk, Megan (Daniel) Parquette, Hunter (Paige) Lent, and Sydney Lent; along with numerous great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Louise Nassar Watters; and brother, Robert Clark.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Corpus Christi University Parish, 2955 Door Street, Toledo. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Military honors will take place immediately following the Mass. Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers and in light on Mary's giving spirit, please consider donating to the charity of your choice.
