Mary Lou Hibbs, 96, of Toledo, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, in Arbors at Oregon Nursing Home. Mary Lou was born on October 13, 1908, in Lewisburg, TN, to Franklin and Sarah (Miller) Matney. She was employed with the Toledo Board of Education, teaching first grade for 19 years at Franklin Grade School retiring in 1974. She also was a Sunday school teacher and taught in Kentucky for 18 years. Mary Lou was a member of East Toledo Baptist Church, member of the Woman's Missionary Union and a volunteer at the East Toledo Family Center. Mary Lou is survived by many nieces and nephews and great nephew and great niece, Doug and Jennifer, whom she was very close to. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lucian and brothers, Albert, Earl, Herman, Paul, Robert and Hardin Matney. Friends and family may visit in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Rd. from 2 p.m. until the funeral service time at 7 p.m. Interment will take place in New Suthard Cemetery, Kentucky.
