Mary J. Smith, 90, of Northwood, Ohio, passed away peacefully Friday, January 5, 2018, surrounded by her family. Mary was born in Longbranch, West Virginia on October 23, 1927 to Thomas and Cora (Cole) Fry. She was a longtime member of East Toledo Baptist Church. Mary leaves a legacy of unconditional love and a godly life remains in her family as Mary has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mary is survived by her children, Eldridge (Cathy) Smith Jr., Carol (Robert) Perry, Shirley (Lee) St. John, and James (Cheryl) Smith; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldridge Smith Sr., and 5 siblings. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday, January 8, 2018 from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 1:30 pm in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to Cherry Street Mission Ministries or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
