Mary DuBry Morgillo, PhD age 91 of Northwood, Ohio, closed her eyes on this earth and opened them again in the loving arms of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Mary passed away peacefully two days shy of her 92nd birthday on April 27th, 2026 in Hospice of NW Ohio.
Mary was born on April 29, 1934 in Bedford, Michigan to Earl Alfred DuBry and Clara Cecelia (Dressel) DuBry. She started school in the one room Bullock schoolhouse and transferred to St. Anthony of Padua school after it was built in 1944. She graduated from Bedford high school in 1952 then earned her bachelor in Elementary Education and Teaching in 1970, her master's degree in Secondary Education and Counseling Psychology in 1974 and her PhD in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Toledo in 1980 and earned her Psychodiagnostic Certificate from Boston College in 1981.
Mary began her career as a math teacher at Good Shepherd Parish school in Toledo, Ohio and later at Libby High School. She spent many years working for Catholic Charities as she was earning her doctorate in psychology. After earning her PhD, she opened her private practice in 1981 and then started Charlesgate Institute of Behavioral Medicine in 1986 where she practiced for over 20 years as a Clinical Psychologist until her retirement.
Mary enjoyed traveling the world, reading the bible, playing cards especially with her two sisters, attending the Dressel family reunions, and completing the most difficult levels of Sudoku she could find. Above all, she cherished her family, church friends and her dog, Coco. She had a special talent for putting a Rubik's Cube puzzle back together no matter how messed up it was before she started. Mary was an active member of the Good Shepherd Parish community and after she moved to Northwood, Ohio she continued to actively participate at St. Jerome's Catholic Church and Parish.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Dr. Sharon (Richard) Clevenger, son Robert (Alison) Morgillo, grandchildren April (Brian) VanOsdale, Laura (Brian) Stone, Andrew Morgillo, Vincent Morgillo Jr., Dustin Morgillo, Heather (Dustin) Foraker and Tiffany Morgillo, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by the love of her life, Constantine V. Morgillo in 1983 whom she had married June 20, 1953, her eldest son, Vincent (Linda) Morgillo in 2021, her sisters and brother's-in-laws Joanne (Jerry) Kowalski and Jacqueline (Richard) Ammerman. She was blessed to find love again in later life and married Joseph Halicek in 2001 who passed away in 2016.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 beginning at 9:00 am followed by a mass at St. Jerome Catholic Church 300 Warner St, Walbridge, OH at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery 2224 Dorr St, Toledo, OH 43607 next to her much-loved husband, Connie and son, Vince.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to honor Mary at St Jude Children's Hospital.
The family would like to thank The Gardens of Saint Francis in Oregon Ohio and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their care and support.
