Mary V. Nagy, 87, of east Toledo, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. Mary was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 12, 1919 to Joseph and Maria (Hudasco) Kovacs. Mary was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, East Toledo Senior Center. Mary was very involved in numerous campaign s for Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur and State Representative Peter Ujvagi. Mary had volunteered for St. Louis Helping Hands Soup Kitchen and also made baked goods and noodles for St. Stephen's Church.
She is survived by her children, Georgia Burnham, Patricia (Mike) Voorhees, and James (Marcia) Nagy. Also surviving are grandchildren, Debbie, Wendi, Cindy, Jim, Julie, Michelle; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George J. Nagy; son, Ronald Nagy, and her grandsons, Tommy Lane, Terry and Mark Voohrees.
Visitation will be held the Kinsey Funeral Home Birmingham Chapel, 2001 Consaul Street from 2-9 pm on Thursday with recitation of the rosary at 4 p.m. Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Friday at 9:45 am and proceed to St. Stephen's Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Mary's name are asked to consider St. Stephen's Catholic Church.
