Mary (Nagy) Ondrus passed away September 9, 2011 at Otterbein of Monclova, surrounded by her family. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 28, 1924 to Mary and Nicholas (Mike) Nagy. Mary graduated from Waite High School in 1942. At the end of WWII she married the love of her life William on May 11, 1946. After her children finished college, she went to work with her husband at Ondrus Hardware and continued to work after his death. She considered her greatest accomplishments in life her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was a member of St. Ignatius Parish Altar Rosary, a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Liturgy committee and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. She also was a past member of the Cardinal Stritch High School Beretta Club. She is survived by sons, Donald (Ruthellen) of Findlay, Ohio, Paul (Patty) of Washington Court House, Ohio and William (Charlotte) of Ayersville, Ohio; daughters, Marie (David ) Dunaway of Millbury, Ohio, and Anita ( Robert ) Abel of Melbourne, Australia; 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Steve (Irene) Nagy; sister, Veronica (Ray) Maciolek and sister -in- law, Donna Ondrus; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill; granddaughter, Katie; brothers, Joseph, Nicholas, Elmer, and Dick Nagy and sisters, Gazella Hrivnyak, and Helen Rutkai. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, on Monday from 4:00-9:00 pm where a rosary service will be held at 7:00pm. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. and proceed to St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Road for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery.
