Mary J. Pavuk, 86, of East Toledo, passed away on July 31, 2003 in her home. She was born on February 19, 1917 in Toledo, Ohio to Tom and Miretta (Walsh) Chambers. Mary was employed in the maintenance department of the Toledo Board of Education for 16 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church, the Rosary Altar Society, Disabled American Veterans and VFW Post #4906 Auxiliaries. Mary loved cooking, needle work especially knitting and crocheting. Her real love was reading. When able she would read at least three books a week.
Surviving are her children, Jean Nelson, Thomas (Mary) Bryce, Galen (Kathy) Molnar, Gilbert Molnar, Cathy (Eric) Mott, Barbara (Charles) Childers, Margaret (Andy) Gash; step-children, Leonard (Jeannette), Daniel (Sandy) Pavuk; sisters, Kathleen Carlucci,and Jackie Craft; 36 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Special step-son and daughter-in-law, Joseph (Mary) Molnar, special daughter-in-law, Ruth Molnar and Shirley Self. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, son, Jerry Bryce, daughter, Sally Spratt, brothers, Dick, Galen and Jim Chambers.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2003 from 2-9 at the Kinsey Funeral Home, Birmingham Chapel, 2001 Consaul St., Toledo, Ohio. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 a.m. and proceed to Holy Rosary Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Internment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Mary's memory can be made to Holy Rosary Church or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Mary's family would like to express a special thank you to Bev Bahret of Mercy Home Care and to Katy and Terry of Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
