Mary H. Peter, 91, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee. Mary was born in Hungary on April 4, 1923 to Sandor and Rozalia (Barna) Meszaros. She came to this country in 1959 and worked at various places, including Ransom and Randolph for 12 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking, cooking and gardening. She loved flowers, especially roses. Mary is survived by her children, Steve (Rhonda) Hornyak and John (Heather) Peter; grandchildren, Steven Hornyak, Jennifer (Kevin Skomer) Hornyak, Sarah (Brian) Carter, Mary (Will) Pawlicki, Sandor Hornyak, Kaityln Hornyak, Mary (Paul) Huffman, Jonathan Peter, Avery Peter and Ryan Peter; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, son, Sandor and special friend, Lamar Bodell. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13 at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 South Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday February 14 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in North Oregon Cemetery.
