Mary Norberta Sanford, 78, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Saturday, November 1, 2025, in Perrysburg Township Ohio. Mary was born on July 13, 1947, in Washington, Indiana, to Norbert and Eleanor (Jones) Gootee. On October 10, 1970, she married the love of her life, Edwin Sanford. Mary worked for U.S. Gypsum, Glass City Tool & Dye, Samsen Home Furnishings, and Fine Designs Sofa Gallery, retiring in 2008. She was an avid flower gardener and loved playing the slot machines at her favorite casinos around the country. Mary's greatest joy was spending time with her family during holidays and vacations by the ocean. She was a devoted member of Northwood Church of God and more recently attended Lemoyne Baptist Church

Mary is survived by her husband of 55 years, Edwin; daughters, Sheri (Chuck) DiSanto and Susan (Chad) Cope; grandchildren, Gabriel, McKenna, Maleah, and Marisa; and brother, Jim (Linda) Gootee. Preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends at Eggleston Meinert Parley Funeral Home, 1111 Woodville Road, Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Funeral services Thursday, November 6, 2025, in Lemoyne Baptist Church, 25020 Bradner Road, Genoa at 11:00 am.  Interment: Lake Township Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Lemoyne Baptist Church or American Cancer Society.
