Mary V. Simon, 92, of Oregon, OH, passed away April 29, 2004, in her home. She was born on November 28, 1911, in Rossford, OH, to John and Mary (Kopena) Sankiewcz. Mary was a member of Holy Rosary Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother dedicating her time to her family, especially her grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gilbert, in 1983.
Surviving are her children, Gabriel (Annette) Simon, Paul (Rebecca) Simon, Mary Ann (Rick) Szymanski, Robert (Kathy Crosby) Simon and Marcia (Doug) Kigar; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Renee) Simon, Ann Marie (Michael) Zelenka, Ryan Simon, Diana Simon, Julie Cervetto, Erik and Alan Szymanski, Robert Simon II, Dawn (Jeff) Duty, Aaron (Heather) Kigar and Holly Marie (Brett) Cousino; 9 great-grandchildren; special niece, Dorothy (Don) Pindoley, and nephew, John (Frances) Sankiewicz. Mary also was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, Paul and Michael Sankiewcz, and in Europe her sisters, Katrine and Ann.
Visitation will be held in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH, on Sunday, April 2, 2004, from 5 until 8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Monday at 12 p.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Mary's memory can be made to Christ Dunberger Post No 537, Holy Rosary Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Mary's family would like to acknowledge with gratitude the loving care provided by Dr. Edward Young and staff and Hospice nurse, Robin Love.
