Mary Ellen Stiff, 89, of east Toledo passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. Mary was born in Muscatine, Iowa on July 30, 1924. She was a 1942 graduate of Waite High School. Mary had worked as a secretary for several companies in the area, retiring from the former People Savings. She was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church. Mary was involved with Waite High School Alumni where she was the 'œticket chairman'. Mary enjoyed sewing, reading, crafting, and traveling. She was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Tigers fan. Her real love was spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her daughters Ellen (Robert) Wilhelm, Lynn (Michael) Mominee, Sandy (Jeremy) Orth; grandchildren, Bob, David, Amy, Jason, Brian, Jaclyn, Jessica, Jared; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Janet McCormick and Joyce Hayes; special friend, Robert Sass. Mary was preceded in death by her mother and step father, Dollie and Clarence Manley; father, Charles Rummels and her husband, Dale in 1968. Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon on Wednesday from 2-8 pm and where her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 am with Pastor Larry Michaels officiating. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
