Mary Catherine Thies, 76, of Millbury, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 14, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born September 16, 1944 in Toledo, Ohio to Albert and Margaret (Cashen) Feyes. On October 13, 1962 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa, Ohio, she married Jerome Thies. Religion was the center of Mary's life. Mary was a longtime parishioner at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Walbridge where she was the school secretary and developed many lifelong friendships with students, staff, and parents. She prayed the rosary daily, volunteered with the Marriage Encounter Movement, and taught PreCana. Mary was an avid reader, enjoyed camping, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mary's grandchildren will forever remember her ability to make them feel as if they were the most loved. Mary is survived by her children, Mike Thies, Angela Atassi, and Pamela (Eric) Boyer; grandchildren, Ryan (Courtney), Brandon, Nicholas, Rami (Jessica), Remsy (Chloe), Malek, Ammar, Deena, Bassim, Daniel, and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Carson, Brielle, and Elio; and brother, John (Esther) Feyes. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Rita Fuller. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Additional visitation will be held Saturday, September 19, 2021 from 9:30 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner Street, Walbridge.
