Mary K. Waters, 99, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 14, 2016. Mary K., as she was commonly called, was born on July 17, 1917 in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was the eldest of three daughters of Benjamin and Eleanor (Mackenzie) Enos. Mary was a veteran of WWII having served her country in the United States Coast Guard. She met her first husband, Phillip E. Lindsey, who was serving in the United States Army at the U.S.O. and married in 1946. Together they raised 4 children. She was a lifetime member of Stella, now Palestine Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, served as Worthy Matron twice, and was Grand Representative to Connecticut. Later in life she married Walter Waters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Phillip Lindsey and Walter Waters; a newborn son; and sister, Winifred Draper. She will be missed by her daughters, Kathleen (Bob) Kovacs, Eileen (David) Cufr; sons, Phillip E. (Cecilia) Lindsey Jr., Benjamin (Sue) Lindsey; grandchildren, Christopher (Debbie) Cufr, Adam (Carie) Cufr, Bradley (Mandy) Cufr, Michael (Heather) Lindsey, Nicholas (Sarah) Lindsey, Aaron Lindsey, Benjamin (Crystal) Lindsey, Shelly (Brian) Nyers; great-grandchildren, Payton, Daniel, Anna, Rosalie, Nora, Evelyn, Ava, Toby, Ruby, Logan, Carston, Morgan, Noah, Eli, Madison, Gracey and Emma; sister, Eleanor Gibbs; and step-children, Karen Rowley, Richard Waters and Sandy Varner.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd, on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 2-8 pm with Eastern Star services at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Lutheran Homes of Toledo or Christ United Methodist Church. www.egglestonmeinert.com
