Always ready to meet her maker, Mary Zigray, 103, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Home of Little Sisters of the Poor, Oregon, Ohio. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 27, 1910 to Robert and Theresa (Torkos) Kalasz. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years, Andrew in 1991; sister, Helen; brothers, Robert, John, Joseph and Frank. Surviving are her sons, Robert, Andrew (Teresa), Francis (Joan), Joseph (Janice) and Thomas (Connie); 17 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Mary was a homemaker who lived all her life in the shadows of St. Stephen'™s Church in East Toledo. Her life was devoted to her love of God and her family. She was a lifelong member of St. Stephen'™s Church and the Altar Rosary Society. She loved crossword puzzles and reading, especially, suspense novels and was an avid reader until recently. One of her greatest joys was cooking and baking for her children and grandchildren.
Visitation and rosary will be on Friday from 2-4 p.m. at The Sacred Heart Home, 930 S. Wynn Rd. and again on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Stephen'™s Catholic Church until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the sisters and staff of the Sacred Heart Home. Their loving care made her last years a wonderful place to live.
