Obituary

MaryAnn Suto, 81, of Toledo, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord peacefully at Otterbein of Perrysburg on Sunday, February 22, 2026. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 25, 1944, to Malcolm and Virginia (Riel) Dumas. After graduating from Notre Dame Academy, MaryAnn married the love of her life, Stephen K. Suto, on October 6, 1962. Together they would create a lifetime of cherished memories and build a family rooted in faith and love. MaryAnn's greatest joy in life was being a mother. She was a loving mom of seven children, Grandmother of seventeen grandchildren and Great Grandmother to four. She carried that calling with strength, grace, and a heart full of love. Her children were her greatest treasure, and she poured herself into their lives with fierce devotion and unwavering care. Her deep faith in Christ was the foundation of her family. A devoted member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, MaryAnn was intentional about placing Christ at the center of her children's lives, teaching them through prayer, example, and love. You could be sure if you misplaced anything, MaryAnn would make sure you were praying to St. Anthony. Her trust in God and faithfulness led her to look up to the Saints for guidance, whether it was St. Teresa or sharing the story of Our Lady of Fatima.

MaryAnn found joy in the simple pleasures of creating a warm home. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing BINGO, canning, and had a passion for cooking and baking. Some of her favorites were baking pies and Grandma Budd's Christmas cookies, preserving not just food but family traditions like family dinners on Sundays. The seeds of faith she planted will continue to grow for generations. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the faith she instilled, the love she gave so freely, and in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

MaryAnn is survived by her children, Stephanie (Wayne) Seger, Daniel (Renee) Suto, Dr. John (Dr. Billie Kaska) Suto, Gina (Dan) Erickson, Patrick Suto, Brandon (Heather) Suto, Renee (John) Staler; grandchildren, Jacquelyn Seger, Angela (Andy) Ramsey, Troy (Chelsie) Seger, Daniel Suto Jr., Johnelle (Jon) Suto-Ashley, Victoria Suto, Blade Suto, Brooke Erickson, Grant Erickson, Bobby Suto, Timothy Suto, Savannah Suto, Stephen Suto, Hunter Suto, Justin (Paige) Staler, Nicholas Staler; Beth Suto; great-grandchildren, Owen Seger, Maren and Brynn Ramsey, Jordan Staler; siblings, Margie (Larry) Heckman, Melvin "Jerry" (Peggy) Dumas, Dr. Mark (Marianne) Dumas, Madonna (Robert) Arellano; sisters-in-laws, Elizabeth and Marlene Dumas and many nieces, nephews and loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Stephen K. Suto; and siblings, Michael, Martin and Marlene Dumas.

The family will receive friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. and on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 2:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. with friends and family sharing at 7:00 p.m. The family will also greet friends at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Rd., Oregon, Ohio, 43616 on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery.
