Tillie Sofalvi, 93, of Oregon, Ohio passed away March 19, 2023 in Oregon, Ohio. She was the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Feher) Bencze. Tillie was married to Joseph Sofalvi for 60 years.
Tillie was a long-time member of St. Stephen's Church and had a close bond with Pastor Mary Wood of Calvin United Church of Christ. She was proud of her Hungarian heritage and loved to practice the traditions with her family and friends. Joe and Tillie enjoyed traveled extensively throughout the United States. Tillie had a great sense of humor and she would often say, "Laughter is the best medicine." She loved getting together with family and friends.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews; Kenny (Beth) Sofalvi, Ray (Vicki) Vargo, Linda (Kevin) Smetzer; great-nieces and nephew, Linda Voutsas, Shelly (Dave) Bryan, John (Amy) Sofalvi, Christine (Rick) Greulich; cousin, Mary Molnar; special long-time friend, Betsy Rossler and many cousins and great-great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 10:00 am until funeral service at 12:00 pm. Interment: St; Ignatius Cemetery.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Calvin United Church of Christ, or St. Stephen's Church. The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Northwest Ohio and to all the staff at Orchard Villa who cared for Tillie.
