May Pauline Kohlman Schimming went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on April 23, 2007. She died in the home she lived in for the past 59 years in Oregon, Ohio. May was born on May 9, 1921, to Fred and Augusta (Pfeiffer) Kohlman in Oak Harbor. She was a graduate of Oak Harbor High School. May worked for Erie Proving Grounds (Camp Perry) in the payroll department for 11 years. She farmed her own farm in Graytown, Ohio for over 25 years. May will be remembered for her award winning pies, homemade noodles, her red raspberries, card playing skills and her undying love for her daughters, grandsons, brothers and sisters. She loved to grow her own vegetables and work in her yard. May watched the beautiful song birds that would visit her birdfeeder on a daily basis. She was a member of Farmers Union and Farm Bureau and St. Marks Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She leaves to cherish her daughters, Gail Gerwin (Tim), Jennifer White (Bill); grandsons, Ryan and Eric Gerwin and Bradley White; sister, Dorothy Watkins (Jack); brother, Herman Kohlman (Lois) and many cherished nieces and nephews; sister-in law, Gertrude Kohlman as well as special neighbor and friend, Gary Supinski. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and August Kohlman; sisters, Sophie Zibbel (Harold), Alice Miller (Walter), Clara Parman (Earl); brothers, Woodrow, Henry (Eleanor), Elmer (Virginia) and Emery Kohlman (Katherine). Friends and family may call at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Thursday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Marks Lutheran Church 611 Woodville Road, where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Limestone Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in May's memory can be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church or Friends of Pearson Metropark.
