Melanie K. Pieper-Utter, 46, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, Ohio. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 17, 1963 to Chester Sr. and Alice (Watson) Pieper. Melanie worked as a cosmetologist for 16 years with Jim Kreuz Hair Center and most recently was a self employed hair stylist for 7 years. She enjoyed cooking and gardening in her spare time. Surviving are her husband of 15 years, Patrick; parents, Chester Sr. and Alice Pieper; children, Lindsay Fruchey, Nicholas and Robert Klingaman; brothers, David (Regina) and Chester Jr. (Tracey) Pieper; sisters, Tamara DuPont and Patricia (Scott) Sundermeier; nieces and nephews, Kristofer, Kenner, Katelyn and Jordan Pieper, Jessica Kendrick, Timothy and Zachary DuPont, Scott Jr. and Kasey Sundermeier and "special little guy", Ethan DuPont. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca Wells. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, on Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 12 noon until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with interment following in Lake Township Cemetery.
