Melvin R. Knaggs, 80, of Northwood, Ohio passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital. He was born in Toledo on December 8, 1929 to Arvin and Luretha (Graybill) Knaggs. Melvin was employed for 40 years as a longshoreman at the Toledo Lakefront Docks, retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Jerome Church and the Eagles Club. Melvin loved woodworking, camping and gardening and especially restoring vintage cars. But his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family. Melvin is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte; son, Ken (Valerie); daughters, Bonnie (Jim) Armitage and Ruth (B.Les III) Huffman; grandchildren, Angie (Jeff) Kramp, Kristina (Toby) Curtis, Brianna Small, Scarlet (Dan) D'™Amore, Bernie (Holly) Huffman, Ruthann (David) McFarlane, Brock, Brooke and Brant Knaggs Ward; 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harold and Richard; sisters, Wilma Gerr, Bertha Olejownik, Dolores Baker, Madelyn Adkinson and Mary Barr and granddaughter, Brelyn Ward. Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road on Sunday, August 1, 2010 from 2-9 pm. Scripture services will be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday at 11a.m. with interment following in Lake Township Cemetery.
