Melvin Eugene Lark, 98, of Northwood, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 1, 2024, eighteen days after his beloved wife, Minnie. Melvin was born in Toledo, Ohio, May 31, 1926, to George and Mabel (Pollex) Lark. He served honorably in the United States Navy as a radio operator during World War II and the Korean Conflict. On July 18, 1959, he married Minnie Deloris Riggs. Mr. Lark worked as a railroad conductor for 40 years and as a bus driver for Northwood Schools. During retirement, he and Minnie enjoyed wintering in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Melvin is survived by his son, Dennis (Kathy) Lark; granddaughter, Marcy (Matt) Schlatter; great grandchildren Ross and Raegan Schlatter; sister, Martha Pompos; sisters-in-law, Donna Lark and Violet Lark; along with dear friend, Gloria Resendez. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Minnie; and siblings, Edward Lark, Richard Lark, Ruth Dazell, and Raymond Lark
The family will receive friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I 280) Friday, November 8, 2024, from 10:00 am until funeral service at 12:00 pm. Interment: Lake Township Cemetery. Preferred memorials: to a charity of the donor's choice.
