Obituary

Melvin F. "Red" Lauman, 76, of Oregon, OH passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2004 in Toledo Hospital. He was born on December 14, 1927 in Oregon, OH to Fred and Christena (Meier) Lauman. Mel was employed by the Dana Corporation as a machine operator for 29 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of First St. John Lutheran Church and an Oregon Fire Department volunteer for 20 years. Surviving is his wife, Elaine M. Lauman; sons, Donald (Gladys), Ronald (Marie) and William (Linda) Lauman, Robert Overmyer, Jr.; daughters, Jacquelin (Harold) Gear and Patricia Manley; sister, Marlene (Jim) Fouty; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Mel was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy; daughter, Marcie and his parents Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with interment following in Williston Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Mel's name can be made to First St. John Lutheran Church or the Oregon Volunteer Fire Department. Visitation: Visitation Times Thursday, 6-9 pm & Friday, 2-9 pm Coy Road Chapel
