Michael K. Akers, 59, of Toledo, Ohio passed away February 11, 2008 at St. Charles Mercy Hospital. He was born in Toledo, OH on August 29, 1948 to James and Patty (Callahan) Akers. Michael was employed as a meter repairman for the Toledo Edison Company for 35 years, retiring in 2005. In his leisure time, Mike volunteered at St. Louis Helping Hands, loved going to auctions, riding his motorcycle and was an avid line-dancer. He also instructed line dancing.  Surviving is his daughter, Michelle (Bill) Billiard; step-daughter, Amy Jo (George) Cole; brother, John (Cindy) Jeffrey; sister, Patricia (Ralph) Shively; grandchildren, Devon, Brianna, Sam, and Miles; many nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Rick Akers, and sister, Debra Hubbard. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 South Coy Rd., on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township.
