Michael T. Bengela, 88, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully Saturday, July 2, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Mick was born June 7, 1934 in Rossford, Ohio to Michael and Mary (Cuda) Bengela. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1954-1957. On November 29, 1958, he married Barbara Thompson. Mick was an electrician by trade and was employed with Inmont Corporation, Kaiser Aluminum, and retired from Johnson Controls in 2003. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed tending the many flowers he grew around his home. A lifelong East Toledo resident, Mick enjoyed playing cards at the East Toledo Senior Center. He was a lifelong member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, serving as an usher and helping with the parish festival. Mick was always willing to share his mechanical knowledge and skills with family and friends in need. Mick is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara; children, Mike (Don Essman) Bendzela, Michelle Moore, Benjamin (Jacci Young) Bengela, Brian (Tammy) Bengela, and Mark (Timmi) Bengela; grandchildren, Richard (Melinda) Rachel, Michael (Miraya), Megan, Madeline, Ashley, Cristina, Makala, Aaron, Trevor, Gabrielle, and Brennan; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Bengela; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Barbara Roberts and Betty Stover. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Friday, July 8, 2022 from 9:30 am until funeral service at 1:30 pm. Interment: Lake Township Cemetery.
