Michael Burton, 60, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2010. He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana to William and Betty Jane (Miller) Stevenson on December 4, 1949. Michael graduated from Indiana State University with a Master of Science degree in Organic Chemistry and Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He also had substantial MBA training at GE Crotonville. Michael joined Owens Corning in 2005 as Vice President of Operations for Roofing & Asphalt and in 2006 was named the Vice President of Integrated Supply Chain & General Manager, Asphalt for the Roofing & Asphalt business at Owens Corning. Prior to his work at Owens Corning, Michael was General Manager, Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing for GE Water Technology. He was also previously employed with Great Lakes Chemical Corporation, was President of PolyProcessing Company in Louisiana, and had several manufacturing and technology roles with GE Plastics. Michael is survived by his wife, Katie Beth; children, Chuck Pence, Troy Pence, Nicolette Burton and Steven Auxter; sisters and brothers, Zina Jane Miller, Billy Pete Stevenson, Sandra Baxter and Lila Elaine Massa; grandchildren, Chase Aston Romaldo, Lauren Ashley Pence, Gage Pence, Zackary Pence, Aiden Pence and mother-in-law, Dorothy 'œBoo' Trinchard. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Alan 'œBud' Burton. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury, Ohio on Monday, August 9, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be private.
