Michael J. "Cadillac Mike" Elekonich Sr., 79, of Genoa, Ohio passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009 in his home. He was born in Toledo, OH on September 14, 1929 to Andrew J. and Pearl (Koschalk) Elekonich. Mike had been employed by the Local #50 Union of Plumbers and Pipefitters for 59 years, retiring in 1985. He was a faithful member of his local. Surviving are his wife, Judy; daughters, Bridget (Robert) Boellner and Genevieve (Scott) Kerstetter; son, Michael Elekonich Jr.; step-son, Mark (Priscilla) Welker, Matt (Sandy) Welker and Timothy (Shawn) Welker; sister, Doris Romanco; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Paul and Andrew Elekonich. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, on Saturday, February 28, 2009 from 2-9 pm. Interment will be private.
