Michael J. Hager, Jr., 80, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 4, 1936 to Michael and Mildred (Kluding) Hager. He was a 1955 graduate of Waite High School. On November 21, 1959 he married the love of his life, Pearl Wuertz. They had 57 wonderful years together. For 38 years, Mike worked for Toledo Edison at the Acme and Bayshore plants retiring in 1993. He loved to travel and take trips on the weekends with Pearl to explore flea markets and out of the way diners. He enjoyed programming and fixing computers for his friends and family. He was quite the handy man for household repairs. His true passion was his children and grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pearl; children, Mike (Julie) Hager, June (Dan) Howland; grandchildren, Mike (Kara) Hager, Kelly Hager, Emily Howland and Rachel Howland; brother, James Hager and sister Norma Koester along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard Hager; sister, Joyce Perry.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association. Mike's family would like to thank the doctors and nurses, especially Chris, at the Mercy St. Vincent ICU for the love, compassion and prayers given to Mike, and a special thank you to their wonderful angel, Cindy.
