Michael Frances Jurski, Jr., 85, went to be with the Lord on March 30, 2011. He was born in Toledo on February 8, 1926 to Michael and Mary Jurski. Mike joined the United States Army, serving in Germany during WWII.
In June, 1950, he married Margaret Johnson. They had three sons, Ron, Rick and Robin. For many years, Mike was a very active member of the East Toledo Wesleyan Church and later the Oregon Church of the Nazarene. He was known for his beautiful tenor voice and his love of jokes. Mike worked for many years for the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation, and served as the Toledo District Director before his retirement.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Kazmierz, Martha, Connie, Roman and Ray. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons, Ron (Deb), Rick (Lisa) and Robin; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Saturday, beginning at 1:00 P.M. and officiated by Ron Jurski. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
